Eurowings Managing Director Michael Knitter will leave the company at his own request at the end of March 2021. He is followed by the current Austrian Airlines COO Jens Ritter. As of April 1, 2021, the last-named manager will move into the management of the Lufthansa low-cost airline.

The carrier will in future be managed by Jens Bischof (CEO), Frank Bauer (CFO) and Jens Ritter (COO). "We are very grateful to Michael Knitter," said Christina Foerster, Chair of the Eurowings Supervisory Board. "For more than five years at Eurowings, Michael Knitter has stood for flying excellence, continuity and consistency in times of great change." In recent years, Knitter has set up the flight operations organization in such a way that Eurowings is now regularly one of the most punctual airlines in Europe.
