The Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines is launching a second Fifth Freedom route within Europe. This is a connection between Milan and Barcelona (vice versa). This should be served by the Airbus A350-900.

From January 17, 2022, Singapore Airlines will merge the flights between Milan (Malpensa) and Barcelona. There will be a stopover on both the outward and return flights. As a result, Singapore Airlines will also carry passengers within Europe as part of the Fifth Freedom.

It is currently planned that Milan-Barcelona-Milan will be offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Aviation.Direct took a closer look at the “Europe product” from Singapore Airlines on another Fifth Freedom route. More about it with this link.

The Fifth Freedom flight plan at a glance:

  • SQ378 Milan Malpensa-Barcelona 0715-0850
  • SQ379 Barcelona-Milan Malpensa 1010-1150
