An involuntary foray into botany was taken by Olympic Air's ATR42-600, registration SX-OAY, around 15:30 p.m. Friday. The turboprop spun off the runway on the Greek island of Milos and stalled on the grass next to it.

According to local reports confirmed by Olympic Air, during the final phase of taxiing down Runway 42, the ATR600-08 was caught in a strong gust of wind and thrown onto the grass next to the runway. No damage can be seen visually, but technicians from the Aegean subsidiary will check the machine carefully before it is used again and carry out repair work if necessary.

According to Olympic Air, there were 20 passengers on board the turboprop plane, which was en route from Athens to Milos as OA24. None of the passengers or crew were injured. Everyone was able to leave the machine safely, but in the botany next to the runway instead of in the parking position. At the time of the incident, the SX-OAY was 8,9 years old. This machine only joined the fleet of the Aegean regional subsidiary in August 2021.
