The South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has fined four airlines - Asiana Airlines, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air and Korean Air - the equivalent of US $ 3,23 million. The airlines are accused of violating the country's flight safety.
Jeju Air received the highest fine, as did the aviation portal Swiss Aviation reported. The carrier has to pay two million US dollars for the unauthorized transport of dangerous goods - especially lithium-ion batteries - among other things. And in the end the company got off lightly. Because a fine of around 16 million US dollars was threatened. In view of the consequences of the Corona crisis, those affected should think twice about whether they should stick to the rules in the future.
