The newly founded Air Ocean Airlines carried out its maiden flight on the Kiev-Mykolayiv route. A regional Antonov An-148 jet was used as the aircraft. A second unit should join the fleet by the end of the year.

The carrier is starting up with Ukrainian-made machines. This makes you exotic in a way, because neither the An-148 nor the An-158 have been a bestseller so far. Some airlines have returned this type of machine after a short period of use.

Air Ocean Airlines' home base is Kiev-Schuljany Airport, which is located within the urban area of the capital of Ukraine. From there you want to fly both domestically and internationally. Company boss Viacheslav Geriga stated that at the beginning they would operate in a radius of about 2,5 flight hours.

In the medium term, the fleet is to grow to ten units of the An-145/158 types. In the first or second quarter of the coming year, three copies are expected, so that the summer flight schedule 2022 - according to the current planning status - will be contested with five aircraft from Ukrainian production. The Antonov aircraft are not bought, but via Cyprus Aircraft Leasing 2 (Cal) Ltd. leased.
