The Canary Islands airline Binter Canaris is putting out feelers towards Portugal. The carrier plans to add a Fifth Freedom route between Funchal and Marrakech. This is to be included on July 3, 2022.

It is currently planned to fly twice a week with ATR72 turboprop aircraft. For the time being, the intention is to fly until September 24, 2022, although extension and expansion are conceivable if there is sufficient demand.

There is currently no non-stop connection between the Azores and Morocco. Currently, transfers are mainly made in Porto and Lisbon. No aircraft will be stationed in Funchal for the start of the new Binter connection, but one will fly from Las Palmas. There is currently a route within Portugal, namely Funchal-Porto Santo.
