Munich Airport expects significant increases in flights, travel destinations and passengers during the Bavarian summer vacation.

For the period from July 30th to September 13th, 2021 inclusive, around 24.000 flights to 175 destinations worldwide are planned according to the registrations of the airlines. The peak day is expected at the beginning of the holiday on July 31, 2021 with 561 registered passenger flights. The daily average during the holidays is 517 take-offs and landings - almost 200 flights more than in June this year. During the summer holidays, the volume of traffic will thus reach almost half of the pre-crisis level.

“The demand for air travel is increasing noticeably. People are increasingly using the plane again for their vacation trips or for encounters with friends and family. At the same time, we can see that business travel is picking up speed again, ”said Jost Lammers, CEO of Flughafen München GmbH.
