Münster / Osnabrück Airport is receiving financial support of three million euros from the Steinfurt district. If you add up the grants from the other shareholders, another ten million euros come together.

In the run-up, there were controversial discussions about the financial measures in favor of the airport. An action alliance demands, among other things, that the city of Münster should get out as a shareholder. The Greens are of the opinion that the “previous subsidy policy has failed”.

The debate is not over with the commitment of three million euros from the Steinfurt district. The district announced that a "political discussion of principles about the further development of Münster / Osnabrück Airport" is to be held. According to the communication, this should also include "alternative usage concepts". The district of Steinfurt did not disclose what exactly this meant.
