While other construction projects cannot (yet) be implemented due to the corona crisis, the “Erdinger Ringschluss” project has reached a further milestone: The Bavarian Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer and the authorized representative of Deutsche Bahn, Klaus Dieter Josel, signed the contract today at Munich Airport Realization and financing of the section from the airport to Schwaigerloh.

The airport operator is taking around 115 million euros into its own hands and is creating a continuous rail link from Freising via Munich Airport to Erding. In the tunnel, the tracks of which are about ten meters below the surface, the trains will mainly be in areas where planes are rolling overhead. The shell should be completed by the middle of next year - after that the technical equipment will be carried out by Deutsche Bahn.
