At Munich Airport, digitized RT-PCR tests have been offered by the MVZ Martinsried laboratory since today. The results should be sent to users on their mobile phones within three to six hours. The use of the service in Terminal 2 of the Franz-Josef-Strauss-Airport is chargeable.

The airport announced that the new offer should avoid quarantine in the destination country. Many, but expressly not all, states forego self-isolation if a negative PCR test is presented, which, depending on the country, may not be older than 72 or 48 hours. Caution: You cannot “test yourself freely” everywhere. Many states currently do not allow entry at all. It is therefore particularly important that the regulations valid on the day of entry are checked independently. These change frequently, sometimes even overnight.

Incidentally, the new offer at Munich Airport is not cheap. The basic package costs 128 euros and must be paid for in advance by credit card when booking an appointment on the Internet. Other forms of payment are currently not accepted. It is also not possible to take a test without prior reservation and payment.
