It has been a long time since the low-cost airline Ryanair had Graz Airport in its route network. CEO Michael O'Leary said in Vienna on Wednesday that negotiations are in progress with Styria Airport. Among other things, it should be about the resumption of the London route.

Graz Airport has a great interest in bringing back the low coster. According to Michael O'Leary, the talks were recorded by the airport. However, he did not want to give any further information on the possible destinations and a possible start time. When asked if it was London, Laudamotion Managing Director Andreas Gruber replied with a smile: "Maybe".

Just a few weeks ago, Ryanair announced that in the winter flight schedule 2022/23 will return to Klagenfurt Airport. Andreas Gruber explained, among other things, that the incoming and outgoing booking situation would go "in the right direction". In the field of winter sports, one sees strong development potential.

Ryanair is currently flying to Vienna and Salzburg airports in Austria. Klagenfurt is to be added from winter 2022/23. A possible comeback in Graz would mean having four Austrian airports in the route network. Linz was also served in the past, but withdrew again. Innsbruck had the subsidiary Laudamotion in the route network for a winter period, but they are currently not present. According to airport director Marco Pernetta, it should at the moment no comeback intentions.
