Eurowings Discover has not yet carried out the “official first flight”. But for a few days now two Airbus A330s have been on the road on behalf of the sister company Air Dolomiti. As records from Flightradar24 show, the machines are used on the routes to Rome and Barcelona.

These routes are normally served with regional jets from the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. But Eurowings Discover is temporarily flying from Frankfurt am Main with long-haul aircraft for the Italian Lufthansa subsidiary. There is definitely a reason for this, because this internal order is also used to optimize processes.

The machines with the registrations D-AXGE and D-AXGF are currently flying for Air Dolomiti. Both were previously used by SunExpress Germany under the Eurowings brand. The last-named airline was closed in the wake of the corona crisis. The official first flight of Eurowings Discover is scheduled for July 24, 2021 in the direction of Mombassa.
