Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, Israel's Eilat Airport has not had any regular international flights. That is set to change as early as August 2022, when non-stop flights to Larnaca and Batumi are set to begin.
While before the crisis only non-Israeli carriers were active in regular international traffic to/from Eilat-Ramon, Arkia is now adding two routes. It is also a premiere in other respects, because this airport has so far only been flown to in the cold season.
Arkia wants to head for Larnaka and Batumi several times a week from August 2022. At the same time, the airport and the city administration of Eilat are hoping that European low-cost carriers in particular could return in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. In the past, their activities had been heavily subsidized.
