Nambia: Westair also ceases flight operations

The airline Westair Aviation (Namibia) got caught in the maelstrom of the liquidation of the state carrier Air Namibia. The regional airline also had to cease flight operations

Westair Aviation last flew under a wet lease contract with four Embraer ERJ 145s on behalf of Air Namibia. This contract broke off because the government decided on the state-owned company to be sent to liquidation.

Westair is looking for buyers for the four Embraer regional jets. The machines are for sale and are available immediately. In the present tender it can even be read that these are no longer needed due to the liquidation of Air Namibia. The ERJ 145 with the registrations V5-WEB, V5-WC, V5-WEW and V5-WIN are affected. The average age is 19,6 years.

It is still unclear to what extent flight operations can be continued or reactivated with the remaining models. In any case, it is certain that Westair Aviation will withdraw from the operation of the airliner planes. The fleet of smaller aircraft consists of the following types: Beechcraft Hawker 400XP, Beechcraft King Air 350ER, Piper Cheyenne 2, Cessna Conquest C425, Reims Cessna F406, Cessna C404 Titan, Cessna C402 Businessliner, Cessna 310, Cessna 208B Caravan and Cessna C210.
