The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Etihad Airways presented the new Abu Dhabi Pass at the ITB Berlin tourism trade fair. This digital pass offers visitors to the emirate numerous discounts and simplified access to various offers. The pass is free for Etihad passengers and is provided by email.

Benefits include a visitor SIM card with 10GB of data, free use of public buses and 24-hour access to the hop-on hop-off tourist bus network. Pass holders also receive discounts on entrance fees to cultural attractions such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Qasr Al Watan, as well as special rates at theme parks on Yas Island, including Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World. Discounts at over 200 restaurants, as well as desert safaris and city tours are also part of the program.

The Abu Dhabi Pass complements Etihad Airways' stopover program, which is already seeing a growing number of international visitors. In 2024, 85.000 travelers took advantage of the opportunity to stop over in Abu Dhabi - a significant increase compared to the previous year. The airline expects over 2025 stopover guests in 130.000. In addition, travelers can benefit from a free hotel stay of up to two nights when booking through Etihad.

The new pass is part of the emirate's long-term tourism strategy, which aims to increase visitor numbers to 2030 million by 39,3 and further expand the tourism sector. This is being done in conjunction with investments in infrastructure, such as the new Terminal A at Zayed International Airport, and the expansion of cultural and tourism offerings.
