Nice Air sets course for Düsseldorf

The Icelandic company Nice Air is planning to offer two new routes from Akureyri in the 2023 summer flight schedule. These should lead to Alicante and Düsseldorf. Operational implementation is to be carried out by Hifly Malta with an Airbus A319.

Nice Air does not have its own AOC, but is a company that charters aircraft and markets the seats on its own account. Therefore, they are formally charter flights. From April 14, 2023 to May 24, 2023, the plan is to fly once a week to Alicante. According to the Icelandic company, Düsseldorf will be offered the same frequency from May 6, 2023.

The launch of Nice Air went quite bumpy, because the planned UK destinations could not be offered. The necessary approval was denied as Maltese airlines are not allowed to operate commercial flights between Iceland and the United Kingdom due to Brexit. That was forgotten in the planning.
