The state of Estonia is helping the Nordic Aviation Group with 22 million euros. In addition, a loan of eight million euros will be granted, so that the group of companies, which is mainly known under the Nordica brand, will receive a total of 30 million euros.

According to Economics Minister Taavi Aas, the EU Commission has already given its approval. The funds are to be transferred as soon as the 49 percent LOT stake in the operating subsidiary Xfly has been transferred to Nordica. The cooperation with the Polish Star Alliance carrier has meanwhile been terminated.

Nordica operated as a virtual airline until the brand was abandoned. Operationally, the connections were carried out by Xlfy and marketed by LOT. Now Nordica has also been given an AOC. It is still unclear whether there will be a clear separation between the ACMI and line business. In any case, twelve routes are to be included from Tallinn under the Nordica brand. However, the minister did not give a specific date for this.
