The long-haul startup Norse Atlantic Airways will set up its US headquarters at Fort Lauderdale Airport. At the same time, there are plans to fly to the European cities of Paris, London and Oslo from this airport.

According to the company, the flights will begin in the course of 2022. “The time is perfect for Norse, as international travel to and from South Florida is increasing,” says company boss Bjørn Tore Larsen. He also considers this airport to be the "key to success".

Similar to Norwegian in the early days, Norse Atlantic Airways will initially rely on secondary airports in the United States. These are, for example, Ontario and Newburgh. Initially, connections are to be established from Oslo in Norway. A UK branch is to be established in London-Gatwick. It is expected that the Norwegian authorities will issue AOC and an operating license in the course of November 2021. In the summer flight schedule of 2022, Norse Atlantic Airways plans to fly twelve Boeing 787-9s and three B787-8s.
