The low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle carried around 18 million passengers last year. The carrier was thus able to almost triple the volume. The occupancy rate is said to have been 83,1 percent.

In December 2022, Norwegian had 1.315.924 passengers on board. This enabled the volume to be increased by around 2021 percent - in direct comparison with December 41. 64 aircraft were in use. The company also announced that due to the positive development it is once again able to conclude fuel hedging deals. The fuel requirements for the years 2023 and 2024 have been secured at prices that are below the current pump price.
