Norwegian turns back to the Boeing 737 Max

Not so long ago, Norwegian Air Shuttle canceled a large order for the Boeing 737 Max. In the course of the bankruptcy proceedings, a large A320neo order was also disposed of. Now the carrier has one more eye on the Max.

Among other things, company boss Geir Karlsen told the Danish portal Check-in.dk that it is highly likely that this type of machine will be part of the Norwegian fleet in the future. At the moment you only fly with Boeing 737-800s.

It is also noteworthy that the airline and the manufacturer are still in a legal battle. A deal was made with Airbus, but not with Boeing. As early as June of the previous year, Norwegian announced that the order for 92 B737-Max-8 and five B787-9s would not be accepted. In the course of the insolvency proceedings, they asked for damages and also the down payments that had already been made. Boeing has not yet complied and Norwegian filed a lawsuit.

It is currently not known whether an agreement will be reached with the US manufacturer and a small number of units will be purchased or whether the future Boeing 737 Max will be obtained from Lessoren.
