Nova Rock: ÖAMTC recommends arriving by public transport

Nova Rock (June 7-10) promises a brilliant start to the Austrian festival season. Around 200.000 visitors are expected. This year, the ÖAMTC is once again on site with a mobile breakdown support point in order to be able to provide rapid assistance if the worst comes to the worst.

The Yellow Angels will thus prevent traffic jams due to defective vehicles and, if necessary, enable the concert guests to enjoy the festival uninterruptedly despite the breakdown. From Wednesday, June 7, at 09:00 a.m. to Sunday, June 11, at 12:XNUMX p.m., the ÖAMTC breakdown helpers will be on hand to provide visitors with advice and assistance.

Travel Tips – Traffic jams to be expected on the A4

In order to make the journey as smooth as possible, a sophisticated approach concept has proven itself for years, this year it was also optimized for any bad weather events. The ÖAMTC traffic experts warn that traffic jams will still occur during the main arrival times.

The Ost-Autobahn (A4) is the direct access to the festival site. A construction site notice for all those driving from downtown Vienna to the Nova Rock: The Erdberger Lände is closed in the direction of the A4 from Wednesday night (June 7, 22:00 p.m.) to Monday (June 12, 04:00 a.m.). It is locally diverted via the side lane and Ludwig-Kößler-Platz, which can lead to significant traffic jams. It is therefore advisable to use the Autobahn (A22) and Tangente (A23) or Belt and A23 to avoid large areas.

The A4 exit at Nickelsdorf takes you to the Pannonia Fields. If the rush is very large, it will be diverted to the Mönchhof motorway exit if necessary. Attention, at Bruck an der Leitha Ost (A4) there is a two-way traffic area. The ÖAMTC asks everyone to drive with foresight and to queue up on the right before departure in order to avoid abrupt lane changes. The ÖAMTC breakdown drivers will also be on the road more often on the access routes to Nova Rock. Please follow the instructions of the securities. Rescue and supply routes must always be kept clear.

If you want to bring or pick up festival visitors to Nova Rock, you cannot drive directly to the site. There is a dedicated car park at the Nickelsdorf sports field, from where you can take the shuttle bus directly to the festival site. Experience has shown that the journey is spread over several days. The majority of visitors use Wednesday to travel there.

Club recommends public arrival

For all those who want to go to the Nova Rock Festival as stress-free as possible, we recommend arriving by public transport, there are numerous offers by train and bus.

A lot of work and unusual assignments in a good atmosphere

Hundreds of assignments await the ÖAMTC-Nova Rock team this weekend. "Most of the breakdown assistance will only be available before the journey home," says Andreas Müller from the ÖAMTC, who can already look back on many years of festival experience. "Most of the time, just before you go home, you realize that the car key has disappeared or that the battery is dead," says Müller. But the atmosphere at Nova Rock is always very special - nobody lets a breakdown spoil the festival mood here. A different kind of work is often waiting for the breakdown workers, sometimes ladder wagons, windshield chests, refrigerators and generators have to be put back on the road. It has also happened that visitors have lost their orientation due to the large parking lot and after four days of the festival no longer know exactly where they had parked their vehicle - here, too, the ÖAMTC proved to be a savior in need.

Nova Rock - free of breakdowns - the tips of the mobility club

  • Be sure to take a second key with you and give it to a passenger. For legal reasons, the ÖAMTC is allowed to open cars so that festival visitors can at least get their belongings out of the vehicle, but not start them.
  • Power consumption. Cool boxes in particular should be switched off at times. Car radios and air conditioning are also energy guzzlers.
  • Make key fobs easily recognizable. The lost and found service often has more than ten key fobs from a car brand. Without a distinctive feature, it is almost impossible to identify one's own.

If you lose your key, the mobility club offers a tried and tested service: the free key fob with a lost and found function is again available to members. The tag is linked to the contact details. If someone finds the key, they can hand it in at an ÖAMTC base (also at the mobile festival base) or simply drop it in a mailbox.
