Actually, Rudolf Anschober's (Greens) entry regulation would have expired on March 31, 2021. The ministry he heads has now announced that the current version will be extended until at least May 31, 2021. As a result - apart from a few exceptions - a quarantine must still be entered into.

There are changes with regard to the validity of findings: PCR tests are valid for a maximum of 72 hours after the swab is taken and rapid antigen tests for a maximum of 48 hours. The entry registration, which also includes commuters, is retained. Unless you fall under an exception, a quarantine must be started. Free testing is possible after five days.

Landing bans for South Africa and Brazil extended

While the landing ban for machines that have taken off in the United Kingdom will be lifted shortly, those for Brazil and South Africa have been extended until April 4, 2021 for the time being. The Ministry of Health is of the opinion that this measure can prevent the introduction of mutations. Connections with a change are not affected, as the ban only applies to non-stop passenger flights. The list of countries from which you can enter Austria without testing or quarantine is extremely short: Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea and the Vatican. Coming from all other countries you are subject to the current entry regulations and thus to quarantine, unless you fall under an exception.
