More and more Austrian districts can only be left on presentation of negative corona tests, which must not be older than 48 hours. Both PCR and antigen results are recognized. Important: Antigen self-tests cannot be used for this.

According to the ÖAMTC, the districts of Wiener Neustadt-Bezirk, Wiener Neustadt-Stadt, Neunkirchen, Gasteinertal, all of North Tyrol as well as the districts of Kufstein and Schwaz as well as the municipalities of Arzl im Pitztal, Virgenin Osttirol and Elbigenalp are currently affected by these measures. According to various media reports, the Scheibbs district is also about to be subject to an exit test.

The statutory city of Wiener Neustadt announced in the meantime that the city and the district are now viewed as one unit. This means that there is no compulsory exit test within the boundaries of the Wiener Neustadt district including the statutory city. However, if you want to drive to the neighboring district of Mattersburg, for example, a negative result, which must not be older than 48 hours, must be presented.

Merely transit through the “cordoned off” parts of Austria is still allowed. This means that passengers on the Südbahn route do not have to carry a negative result with them to pass through Wiener Neustadt Hauptbahnhof. Leaving the train station can, however, lead to the obligation to test.

Free antigen tests can in numerous pharmacies and in the stations of the federal states and municipalities be made. The wholesaler Metro has recently started offering products in Vösendorf and Wiener Neustadt, among others Free quick tests in the parking lots on. In the federal capital Vienna, people who live or work here have been able to do so for a few days free PCR test kits in Bipa branches pick up.
