The Austrian government is extending the landing bans for passenger aircraft that have taken off in the United Kingdom and South Africa by two weeks for the time being. The ban would actually have expired on January 10, 2021. However, the Ministry of Social Affairs considers it necessary to maintain the measure.
The NOTAM necessary for pilots and airlines has not yet been published. However, this step should be made up for in a timely manner. Due to a new virus mutation, Austria prohibits arriving passenger flights (non-stop) that have started in South Africa or the United Kingdom. Transfer connections are not covered by this ban.
