Based on an evaluation of the booking figures, the holiday home broker Interhome comes to the conclusion that Austrians are again making long-term reservations in advance. In recent years, this has not been the case due to the corona pandemic and the ineffective entry and quarantine regulations.

The evaluations also show that the general trend towards winter holidays in one's own country increased again in the past winter season and stays in the summer of up to one week are still the most popular.

Austrians are again making long-term holiday plans. This is shown by the current holiday home report by the Swiss holiday home broker Interhome. Around half of Austrian guests booked their Interhome accommodation for the past winter season (November 1, 2022 to April 30, 2023) between 31 days and six months in advance. This again corresponds to the same value as in the last complete winter season before the corona pandemic (winter 2018/19). Long-term bookings, which are made more than six months in advance, increased by 21% in the past winter season compared to the same period in winter 2018/19 by around 6%. A quarter of Austrians booked accommodation less than 30 days before moving in.

For bookings less than 30 days before arrival, short trips of up to four nights are by far the most popular at 58%. In the winter of 2018/19, this value was still 52%. As a result, short trips in winter have become more popular with guests booking at short notice, with snow conditions also playing a role here. Guests who book in the medium and long term preferred stays of between five and seven nights in the past winter season - as in the same period in winter 2018/19.
