Excluding Skyalps: Luxwing has started Dash-8 charter flights

The Maltese aerospace company Luxwing seems to have acquired a taste for the de Havilland Dash 8-400 through the now completed order that they had fulfilled for Skyalps. On Friday, the first charter flight in their own colors was carried out on the Catania-Ioannina route.

The business jet operator's airliner fleet currently consists of the de Havilland Dash 8-400 with the registration 9H-LWA. It is a leased aircraft formerly operated by Flybe. A second aircraft will soon be added to the fleet.

Luxwing intends to play a larger role in charter and ACMI traffic in the future. In the past, they worked exclusively for Skyalps in this segment, but the cooperation ended as planned after the company from South Tyrol obtained its own certificates.

The Maltese carrier operated further charter flights over the weekend. In addition to Catania, guests were also guests in Podgorica, Naples, Mostar and Palermo. The flight was commissioned by various tour operators.
