O'Leary: "Ryanair can still cope with a total summer of failure"

The masks, which have been required indoors in almost all public places for almost a year, could be used well into 2022. This is what Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary assumes. In the summer of 2021, the group of companies he leads plans to operate around 2.300 flights per day.

O'Leary said during an online conference that he expects major easing of travel restrictions. The capacity offered should correspond to around 80 percent of the 2019 value. Turning to the UK, he said bookings have risen sharply since it was announced that there would be little more travel restrictions in the summer of 2021.

Michael O'Leary sees the Ryanair Group as well positioned financially. You could still cope with a total failure, but this should be avoided. The airline boss sees vaccinations as a door opener for ending quarantine measures. The manager did not go into the recent discussions in Germany and the United Kingdom.
