Golf carrier Oman Air wants to join the aviation alliance Oneworld and asked competitor Qatar Airways for support with the preparations. The carrier officially announced its intention on Sunday.
When joining alliances, it is common for designated members to be accompanied by another airline. The processes are aligned with those of Oneworld. In the specific case, Oman Air asked for support from Qatar Airways.
The Oneworld alliance currently has 14 members. Among others, Qantas, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways belong to the alliance. Oman Air's fleet currently consists of 47 aircraft. 34 destinations are served.
