Only a few months ago, the French long-distance bus operator Blablacar Bus entered the Austrian market. In the meantime, the company, which served the cities of Salzburg and Vienna, has withdrawn.
It was an extension of an existing route from Paris to Munich. This was extended to Budapest - with stops in Salzburg and Vienna, among others. When asked, a Blablacar spokesperson told Aviation.Direct: "I can confirm that the route from Paris to Budapest, which goes through Austria, was recently discontinued. This route was set up specifically for the summer to meet the higher demand during the holiday season and was therefore discontinued shortly after the autumn holidays as originally planned. We may repeat the operation next summer."
