Almost two million passengers used Berlin Brandenburg Airport last month, just as many as in May 2022.

A total of 1,94 million people took off and landed at BER. That is almost 1,3 million more than in the Corona year 2021 and around 1,3 million fewer people than in 2019 at Tegel and Schönefeld Airport before the pandemic. In the first half of 2022, a total of 8,7 million passengers traveled through BER Airport. In the first half of the previous year, there were only 1,9 million passengers in the period from January to June.

Last month, 15.500 aircraft took off and landed at BER. That is twice as many as in June 2021 and 10.000 fewer than in June 2019. The utilization of the machines increased by 5 percentage points in June compared to the previous month and was 85,4 percent. A total of 2.400 tons of air freight were handled in June, 200 tons more than in the same month last year. In June 2019 it was almost 3.000 tons.
