A few weeks ago, Paderborn Airport filed for bankruptcy under self-administration. The Paderborn District Court has now approved the preliminary insolvency plan. The airport is to be continued, but with significantly fewer staff.

Private investors could not be found. In the future, the regional airport is to receive less money from the shareholders, who come exclusively from the public sector. The insolvency plan is to be discussed with the creditors at the Paderborn District Court on January 29, 2021. If they accept the proposal, the judge can confirm it.
