The Austrian regional airline Peoples has announced the resumption of the connection between Altenrhein and Vienna on April 12, 2021. First of all, one circulation will be offered on the working days Monday to Thursday. An increase is planned depending on the development of demand.

Due to the corona pandemic, the “Vorarlberg Shuttle” operated by Altenrhein Airport's in-house airline has been idle for some time. From April 12, 2021, Peoples wants to fly again on a reduced scale. At the same time, the winter flight schedule 2021/22 is available for booking from the carrier. The carrier's only aircraft, the Embraer 170, is currently parked at Vienna International Airport.

“The range of scheduled flights to / from Vienna is of essential importance for us as an airline but also for an airport, both economically and emotionally. We are also convinced that with the resumption of operations we will clearly attach importance to the business location Vorarlberg / Rheintal / Eastern Switzerland and are confident that the demand for air travel will underscore this ”, says Thomas Krutzler, CEO People's Air Group. “The entry restrictions in the individual countries are understandably still causing reluctance and uncertainty. It is therefore particularly important to mention at this point that according to the current status, passengers who use Altenrhein Airport in transit between Vorarlberg and Vienna or vice versa are exempt from the current COVID-19 entry regulations. This means no presentation of a negative corona test or entry form and no quarantine obligation. This is a significant relief, especially for our customers traveling within Austria, including those from Vorarlberg ”.
