In May, Play will begin operations to eight new destinations: Lisbon, Stavanger and Trondheim, Malaga, Prague, Gothenburg, Boston and Brussels. This means that the airline will fly to a total of 25 destinations on both sides of the Atlantic this year.

Play is heading for a strong summer as positive booking trends continue. The airline has seen the highest number of bookings in recent weeks, strengthening the company's revenue base. The airline expects load factors to continue to improve in the coming months as it enters the VIA market as it connects cities in Europe to the United States. This is reported by the Swiss travel portal About Travel.

“In the last few months we have felt a growing demand in the market and a great response to our new goals. After a difficult winter, it is gratifying that this positive feeling is reflected in higher capacity utilization and rising passenger numbers in April. We expect this trend to continue as future bookings are strong, especially with the additional transatlantic traffic boosting occupancy rates in our key European city destinations,” said Birgir Jónsson, CEO of Play.

In April, the Icelandic low-cost airline carried more than 50 percent more passengers than in the previous month. Additionally, the airline's first flight to the United States took place last month, marking the beginning of a new and important chapter in Play's history.
