Icelandic low-cost airline Play took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo earlier this month. This was painted in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and has been in more active scheduled service since March 13, 2022. The first flight was from Keflavik to Berlin.

The newcomer has the registration TF-PPA and is leased from Calc. According to CH-Aviation.com, the aircraft was originally built for Saudi Golf Airlines but was never accepted by them. Previously, the Play fleet consisted of three Airbus A321neo.

The Icelandic carrier will be bringing a long-haul model into the fleet this year. This is an Airbus A321LR, which is expected to enter scheduled service in May 2022. Play is still silent on the identity of this machine. Another Airbus A320neo, which will bear the registration TF-PPB, is expected to enter the fleet in April 2022.
