The Icelandic airline Play intends to add five Airbus A320neo aircraft to its fleet. These are brand-new aircraft that were produced in the previous year. A corresponding letter of intent has already been signed with a leasing company.
The first two A320neo are to be taken over in the first quarter of next year. The three other copies are to follow in spring 2023. The deal with the Lessor also includes another A321neo. The handover is also scheduled for 2023.
Play explains that the fleet should grow to a total of ten machines. Contracts have already been signed for nine. The destinations in North America from Keflavik will be offered by the summer of 2022 at the latest. Mostly Airbus A321neo will be used. The flooding of widebodies is currently ruled out.
