Play takes over third A321neo

The Icelandic airline startup Play expects the arrival of the third Airbus A321neo on Thursday. This was repainted in Texas in the design of the carrier and is to be transferred to Keflavik on Thursday.

The newcomer's fleet thus grows to three units of this type. The machine has the registration TF-PLB, is 3,3 years old and was originally delivered to Interjet. This A321neo was in the air with the Mexican airline under the registration XO-NEO. Due to the corona pandemic, the machine had not been used for a long time and was in so-called long-time storage in Arizona.

With the additional Airbus A321neo, Play wants to expand the offer to 198 flights per week. Over the winter, flight activities should level off at around 170 weekly legs, as demand is lower in the cold season, regardless of the corona pandemic. The Austrian city of Salzburg is also to be served in the winter flight schedule 2021/22.
