Portugal: Hi Fly is now Springjet

Hi Fly, which specializes in charter and ACMI services, has acquired a company name and will be in the air as a spring jet in the future. In this context, the operating license also had to be changed, which was approved by the Portuguese Aviation Authority.

The Maltese subsidiary Hi Fly Malta is not yet affected by the change, but it can be assumed that it will only be a matter of a few days before this will also appear as a Springjet. The change of the company name is based on a mandatory publication in the Portuguese Official Gazette Hervor.

The group also includes the maintenance company Mesa. Hifly Malta was the only operator of a used Airbus A380 to date. This was used from 2018 for charter and ACMI flights. Originally, the company saw great potential and wanted to build up an impressive sub-fleet, but it remained with a single unit that was phased out the previous year.
