In the third quarter of 2022, 796.663 passengers used Dortmund Airport as their departure or destination airport - an increase of around 10 percent compared to last year.

Compared to the previous peak year of 2019 before the pandemic, there was also an increase in passengers: At that time, Dortmund Airport welcomed 768.168 passengers. Previous passenger records were broken in July, August and September this year. In September alone, 268.770 passengers used the offer at Dortmund Airport - more than 20.000 passengers more than in 2019. A new record in the history of Dortmund Airport. The destinations Katowice, Palma de Mallorca and Bucharest were particularly popular in the third quarter, according to the airport in a press release. “We are pleased with the high demand from passengers. The numbers speak for themselves: our airport is very popular and represents an indispensable infrastructure in the country!” sums up airport boss Ludger van Bebber.
