In the run-up to the opening of the Eurowings Europe base in the Czech capital Prague, the carrier is looking for personnel. According to its own information, 6.000 applications for jobs in the cabin and in the cockpit have so far been received.

The first selection interviews for the vacant positions in the cockpit and in the cabin have already started. The Lufthansa subsidiary, which specializes in inexpensive European direct flights, started an application process for crews for its tenth location at the end of July in order to fill around 100 positions in the cockpit and cabin locally.

“We are enthusiastic about this response and the strong interest that our offer is generating in the Czech Republic. I am very pleased that we can offer 'local touch' at the Prague location and that we can strengthen our teams by hiring colleagues on site, ”explains Eurowings Europe Managing Director Robert Jahn.

From October 31, 2021, Eurowings will initially take off with two Airbus A320 aircraft, with a third aircraft to follow in summer 2022. The flights are operated by Eurowings Europe, Eurowings' pan-European flight operator.

Crews from Eurowings Europe from Vienna will initially be deployed from October to set up the base and when flight operations commence in Prague. In the medium term, however, the flights are to be carried out entirely by locally stationed Prague crews. According to the internal regulations, crew members who are already flying for Eurowings Europe have a preferential right to change.
