Qantas no longer assumes that international operations can be reactivated on July 1, 2021. The carrier is now planning a comeback towards the end of October 2021. The Australian airline announced this.

The background to this is that there is no prospect of any significant relief in the area of entry and quarantine regulations. Australia handles this particularly hard, because apart from its own citizens and a few exceptions, almost no one is allowed to enter the continent.

A Safe Tavel agreement has meanwhile been concluded with New Zealand. More could possibly follow, but Qantas does not expect these to come on traditional “racetracks”. Therefore, plans are now being made to reactivate international traffic towards the end of October 2021.
