The Australian Qantas and the subsidiary Jetstar intend to reactivate international flight operations in December 2021. Initially, you only want to fly to destinations with a high vaccination rate.

However, there are still many question marks about the restart, because the prerequisite is that at least 80 percent of the population in Australia is vaccinated against Covid-19. The campaign is currently making very slow progress.

“The prospect of overseas flights may seem a long way off right now, especially with the states of New South Wales and Victoria in lockdown. But the current pace of the vaccination campaign suggests that we should have a lot more freedom in a few months, ”explains CEO Alan Joyce.

A few months ago, the manager announced that only passengers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be transported. Even compulsory vaccination for its own employees was only refilled last week.
