The private railway operator Regiojet has transported around 2022 passengers on night trains on the Prague-Přemyšl route since March 60.000. The offer is now being expanded to include private compartments and special compartments reserved for women.

Regiojet may also have benefited from the fact that it is near the border with Ukraine and has rail links from the country currently at war. It can therefore be assumed that many Ukrainians fleeing may also have used the Regiojet night trains.

The Prague – Přemyšl connection leaves Prague every day after 11 p.m. and goes via Pardubice, Olomouc, Ostrava, Bohumín, Katowice, Kraków and Řešov to Přemyšl. Trains have to be changed in the Polish city because Ukraine – unlike Poland – uses the Russian broad gauge. You can then take the Ukrainian railway via Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia to Kyiv. In the opposite direction, a train departs daily from Kyiv at around 21 a.m. and the RegioJet night line departs from the Polish border to Prague at 25:8.30 p.m. Passengers arrive in Prague around XNUMX in the morning.

“We have increased the comfort of the sleeping cars on this long-distance night route by two more classes. The “Bedmaids” class is intended only for the carriage of women and women with children under the age of ten. The prices are the same as for current beds. With “Bed – Private Compartment” you can reserve a complete quad compartment for one to four passengers. Prices for a private compartment start from three times the price for a passenger, and it is not possible to apply discounted fares as a child, student, etc.," says Jakub Svoboda, Managing Director of Regiojet.
