RegioJet, the largest private railway company in Central Europe, announced that it would modernize its fleet with new electric trains. A partnership with the Škoda Group will enable the delivery of 23 units worth CZK 3,5 billion. These new trains, planned for use from the end of 2026, will significantly improve the quality and capacity of services on the main routes in the Ústí region.

The purchase of the electric trains is part of a competitive contract for the operation of power lines in the region, which begins in December 2026 and runs for 15 years. This historic investment will not only expand capacity, but also improve the comfort, safety and environmental sustainability of services, explains Radim Jančura, owner of RegioJet.

The new trains, including 15 two-car and 8 three-car units, are designed for speeds of up to 160 km/h and offer first-class comfort with air conditioning, WiFi, power sockets and barrier-free facilities. They comply with all current and future rail transport standards and are used on various routes in the region.
