The government of the Republic of Malta has been allowing people from all countries to enter the country again since today. The previously used traffic light, which only knew the colors "green", "red" and "dark red", was abolished without replacement.

The change has no practical implications for people coming from the European Union. However, very well for travelers from countries that were previously listed "dark red". For these, you had to apply for a special permit for entry from the Ministry of Health in advance and then go into quarantine. This is now omitted.

However, the 3G rule will continue to be practiced. Proof that you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, have recovered or have tested negative are accepted. Rapid antigen test results are also accepted. The documents will continue to be systematically checked after landing at Luqa Airport. Completing the electronic PLF document is no longer required. This was abolished without replacement with effect from May 2, 2022. When leaving the Republic of Malta, it is mandatory to go to the check-in counter for a document control also been deleted.
