The Turkish holiday airline SunExpress is lowering the turnover thresholds for agencies and travel agencies that lead to the payment of commissions. The minimum sales for the individual levels have been reduced by 25 percent.

According to its own information, the carrier is reacting to the consequences of the corona crisis. The new model applies retrospectively to January 1, 2020 and therefore also applies to the half-year that has already ended. Travel agencies now receive commissions from a turnover of 15.000 euros and no longer from 20.000 euros.

"The commission model originally planned for 2020 for the agencies and travel agencies was linked to fixed sales targets," says Michael Schober, Senior Manager Direct Sales at SunExpress. “Due to the corona crisis and the temporary grounding of our entire fleet from mid-March to June, however, it was almost impossible for many of our partners to meet them. Since travel agencies are absolute top sales partners for us, we have thought about how we can support them in these difficult times and have adapted our commission model to their advantage. "
