After 20 months of downtime caused by the pandemic, the Terminal 2 satellite at Munich Airport was used again today for the first time to handle flights between Munich and the USA.

The airport and Lufthansa, which jointly operate Terminal 2 and the associated satellite building, will thus gain five additional aircraft parking positions directly at the building and five additional gates for boarding passengers. So that passengers can reach their gates in the satellite building more quickly, the underground passenger transport system, with which Terminal 2 and the satellite are connected, has also been put back into operation. The picture shows the first boarding in the satellite building after months of standstill - passengers on Lufthansa flight LH 460 shortly before their departure for Florida.
