Restrictions on rail traffic to Zurich Airport in January and February 2025

On four weekends in January and February 2025, Zurich Airport station will only be accessible to a limited extent due to construction work on the rail infrastructure by SBB. This affects rail traffic between Zurich HB, Zurich Oerlikon, Winterthur and the airport. Long-distance trains will be diverted and will not stop at the airport station during this time.

The weekends affected cover the periods from Friday, January 17th to Monday, February 10th, 2025, from Friday evening 23:01 p.m. to Monday morning 04:38 a.m. Replacement connections with longer travel times of up to 20 minutes are intended to ensure accessibility to the airport. SBB points out that alternative connections are shown in the online timetable.

Travelers and visitors are asked to plan their journey well in advance. Connections during off-peak times in the early morning are particularly affected, which requires additional planning time for passengers with early departures. SBB recommends finding out about current timetables before starting your journey and allowing enough time.

The construction work is part of a comprehensive modernization of the railway infrastructure and is intended to improve operations in the long term. SBB asks for your understanding for the restrictions.
