Ita Airways airline has formally taken delivery of the first Airbus A350 leased from Alafco. The long-haul aircraft landed for the first time on Wednesday evening at the Rome-Fiumicino home base.

Ita Airways is expected to put this Airbus A350-900 into scheduled service in early June 2022. It is currently planned that the machine will be used in the direction of Los Angeles, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, among other destinations. ITA Airways' A350 has a two-class layout with 334 seats (33 full-flat business class seats, 301 economy seats).

In December 2021, the Italian airline confirmed an order for 28 Airbus aircraft, including 18 single aisle jets (seven A220, 11 A320neo) and 10 A330neo, the latest version of the hugely popular A330 widebody jet. In addition, ITA Airways has already leased more than 50 other new-generation Airbus aircraft, including six A350s, to modernize its fleet.
