The shipping company Royal Caribbean is once again adapting its Corona protocol and lifting almost all of the requirements that are currently being practiced, effective September 5, 2022. The primary consequence of this is that unvaccinated passengers are taken on board again.

Persons who are unable or unwilling to provide proof of a full vaccination against Covid-19 upon embarkation must present a negative corona test. The results of self-tests are also accepted. Vaccinated people do not need a test for trips up to nine days.

However, for voyages lasting at least ten days, both those who have been vaccinated and those who have not, must be tested before embarking. The result must not be older than three days. The shipping company also accepts self-test results. Children up to a maximum of five years of age are exempt from the obligation to be tested or vaccinated.

In a statement, Royal Caribbean expressly points out that there are special regulations for cruises that lead to/from Australia, Bermuda, Canada or Singapore. Due to legal requirements in the aforementioned countries, only vaccinated persons may be allowed on board. There may be exceptions for children, but these should be checked in good time before embarkation, as the shipping company says it has to comply with government regulations.
