In February 2021, the passenger numbers at the Latvian Air Baltic continued to decline. The carrier carried 23.530 travelers on 480 flights. Due to the corona pandemic, the airline is 92 percent below the volume of the same month last year.

Latvia currently has strict entry and quarantine regulations. These have a negative effect on demand. This can also be illustrated by the number of flights operated by Air Baltic. In February 2020 there were 4.140 flight movements and this year there were only 480 - a decrease of 88 percent.

“We have reached our lowest traffic volume since the resumption of planned operations last May. We continue to provide vital connectivity for passengers who need to travel to and from the Baltic States. As the availability of vaccinations increases, we expect passenger traffic to pick up again soon, ”said Air Baltic boss Martin Gauss.
